WMF designs and develops all its products in Germany to ensure that the highest standards of product quality are always met. This means that when you choose to purchase any of our products you will be making an investment for life – we do not subscribe to the throw away society, and although you may pay a little more in the short term for this quality, both you and the planet will pay a lot less in the long run!
Most of our core products continue to be manufactured at our headquarters near Stuttgart, including pressure cookers, cookware ranges, cutlery and our fully forged kitchen knives. Due to capacity we do sometimes source products, but again the design and quality is always controlled by product development experts in Germany.
Our manufacturing processes always use the most modern techniques in order to reduce waste and be as environmentally friendly as possible, which is all controlled under our accreditation to ISO 9001. As you would expect all packaging is sourced from recycled material and will again be recycled for use in other packaging.
The most prominent material in the manufacture of WMF products is 18/10 Cromargan stainless steel which is of the highest quality and should always be demanded by anyone looking for the best quality and life of a product. This contains 18% chromium which provides the stainless steel with strength, durability and shine, with 10% nickel for complete rust resistance making the product safe for the dishwasher.
As an added benefit all our knives are made from a special grade steel containing molybdenum, which not only provides the necessary rust protection but is extra hard to provide an excellent cutting edge that will not be lost.
WMF are very proud of all the products that we make and we therefore offer a no quibble guarantee against any defect in either material or workmanship under normal use, and should the product fail to perform to our high expectations we will replace the item with the same or similar.
